What is Building Hope?
Building Hope is the capital campaign to raise funds for the new Lighthouse Community Services Hub facility in the heart of downtown Orillia.
The Lighthouse Community Services Hub and Lighthouse Supportive Housing will serve Orillia's vulnerable, offering a range of housing as well as emergency food and shelter, primary care, mental health and addiction services for people who are experiencing a housing crisis. Our goal is to promote overall wellness for individuals and families and help alleviate chronic homelessness, addiction and poverty.
What will be offered?
Phase 1 - Government Funding - Home for Good Funding through the Province of Ontario, County of Simcoe and City of Orillia - Ground Breaking was on May 5, 2019
Supportive Housing - 20 Supportive Housing Units
Phase 2 - Capital Campaign - Currently in Public Phase to raise $3million as of February 2019
Emergency Shelter - 40 emergency beds for men, women, youth and families
Separate Mental Health Wing with 5 separate bedroom spaces
Wrap around supports such as Addictions counselling, Mental health counselling, life skills training, spiritual support
Phase 3 - Future Private Developer - no fundraising for this phase
Affordable Housing - 10-14 units
Who Is The Building Hope Team?
The Building Hope Team brings together experienced and community-minded individuals, offering their time and skills to move Building Hope forward. We have approximately 80 volunteers and contracted experts working tirelessly behind the scenes, planning, fundraising and raising awareness for the Building Hope project.
