For a person experiencing homelessness, The Lighthouse offers a range of housing as well as emergency food and shelter, primary care, mental health and addiction services, and spiritual support for people who are experiencing a housing crisis.
Nina's Story
After suffering an incident that stopped her from being able to get up the flights of stairs to her home, Nina found herself in a position she never imagined: homeless. “That was extremely scary.” Nina described the season as difficult time but tears reflected the light in her eye as she talked about how The Lighthouse helped her develop a future when she thought she didn’t have one.
John's Story
John spent over three years and hundreds of thousands of dollars on a cocaine addiction and was eventually – in his words – the walking dead. He came across The Lighthouse and found refuge. “It started out as just a place to stay out of the rain and read” but it grew to something much more meaningful. Hopeful.
Sheila's Story
Sheila was homeless for a year and when she found The Lighthouse.
“I found hope here,” she remembered.
Sheila was able to get the resources and support she needed to find housing to call home.
