When experiencing homelessness, sometimes the choice is between food or hygiene. How do you get housing or a job if you have nowhere to have a shower? We have a Community Shower where those living rough can come in, wash their clothes and have a shower.  $25 can provide a new toothbrush, toothpaste, soaps, shampoo and hot shower for someone coming in from the street.

A Safe Place to Sleep

$100 a night provides a safe place to sleep for those experiencing homelessness, including three meals a day provide nourishment and energy to help them work, find housing or look for a job. Our dedicated and trained staff are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

New Home Start-up

Moving into Supportive Housing or permanent housing is a lot for people experiencing chronic homelessness.  From a fork and knife, towels, bedding, dishes to clothing, furniture and groceries, some participants need to start from scratch.  You can help them get set up with what they need to make their house a home. $100 can give someone a dish and cutlery set, bedding and towels as they settle in to a new home for the first time in a long time.

Many participants who come to The Lighthouse have not had a hearty meal in a very long time. Our kitchen crew ensures that all meals meet the recommended Canada Food Guide for the best nutrition, providing three meals a day plus two snacks.

Community Outreach Meals

$6/day | $24/week | $96/month Community Outreach Meals meets the need of people facing food insecurity. A full bagged lunch is provided 4 days a week to anyone that needs one. Families that have to choose to pay rent over food may come to receive lunch for their kids, for those living on the street without access to healthy food might have this as their only meal in a day.

Emergency Youth Shelter

Opening January 1, 2023 Youth (16 – 20) need a safe place to stay when they experience homelessness. Whether they have a fall out with their family or they are living in an unsafe environment, we want to support youth to stay in school, get a job, find safe housing or reconcile with their family. Qualified youth staff provide a bed, case management and healthy meals.
